Vatican City in Rome Seen from the Airplane

The first time I heard that Vatican City is actually inside Rome I admit I was puzzled. It sounded peculiar. But I understood that’s how things are and never questioned it again (you can read the complete story on Wikipedia for instance). I admit I’ve never been to Rome – though I want to visit it one day. On the other hand, Andrei, my husband, went there a number of times with his job. In one of these travels he had great weather and managed to take a really beautiful photo of Vatican City seen from the airplane (check the region close to the bottom right corner of the photo).

I hope you like it :). Click on the image for a larger view (2,000 px).

I love Rome. The Vatican is certainly a must-visit when you’re there.
