The Place de la Comedie in Montpellier, France

Probably the most famous place in Montpellier, The Place de la Comédie is beautiful at any hour of the day. It is lovely in the sun, gorgeous when the sun sets and nice in the evening.

The main “attractions” are the fountain “Three Graces” and the “Opera Comedie”. The fountain is wonderful – you have to get close to study it a bit and notice the sculpture’s details in order to appreciate it more. Montpellier’s central square is also known as l’OEuf (the Egg) due to its original oval shape.

Andrei went to Montpellier with his job – so not a lot of time to explire the city, to find our more about it and its history. However, he liked this square, the fountain and surrounding areas. Keep in mind that this is one of the argest pedestrian areas in Europe.

As you can see in the photos below, The Place de la Comedie is charming and looks quite peaceful.
