Beautiful Emblem on Musee d’Orsay Building

While waiting in line at Musee d’Orsay, I noticed a really interesting emblem on the wall.

As I told you in the dedicated post to this museum here on the blog, he building was initially a train station, and after it became unusable it was assigned to host a museum – now one of the most famous and visited art museums in the world.

Here’s the interesting emblem on the wall with the entrance (click on it foe a larger view). Do you know who made it and its complete symbolism? I was unable to find out – or to find relevant information on the internet 🙁
