Things to Prepare Before Traveling in Fall and Winter

Did you know that most cases of flu and allergies happen during the fall and winter? In the US alone, there are more than 200,000 people hospitalized for cases of flu every year. The University of Cincinnati and its online bachelor of science in respiratory therapy program suggests that extra precautions are taken to help keep the number of cases down. If you are going to travel this winter, it is best to take the necessary precautions to avoid getting sick along the way.

Getting the annual flu shot – or checking with the doctor to see if one is necessary – is a great first step to take. You also need to get into the habit of washing your hands frequently. Avoid touching your face, particularly your nose, to prevent unwanted infections too.
