Budget Destinations 2013: where are you heading to?
Finally the summer’s nearly here, and that can only mean one thing; holidays! At last, you can pack a case, grab your passport and happily make your way to the East Midlands airport car parking safe in the knowledge that in few short hours, you’ll be lying on a beach, sipping on cocktails, or relaxing by the pool. Perfect. But where are you heading to?
Well, with money being too tight to mention, most of us would preferably like to go to a place where you can sun yourself guilt free. So what are your options? Here are what we believe are the best budget destinations for 2013.
Thailand
Looking for a personal paradise? Want to find a retreat where nobody will ever mention the word, dare we say it, ‘work’? Then Thailand is the place for you. Whether you’ve watched The Beach or not, we can promise that all the rumours about this country’s natural beauty are true. With crystal clear waters and endless sandy beaches, tourists are easily lost in the magic of Thailand. But what can you get up to?
Well, if you are looking to save the pennies this year, then perhaps stay clear of the capital, as this is where it often gets pricey. Locations such as Ko Phi Phi are equally as stunning at just a fraction of the price. Here, you could try spider monkey climbing, enjoy some island diving or laze about on Laem Tong Bay; Thailand’s your oyster!
Slovakia
A hidden gem of the holidaying world, Slovakia is one destination to watch out for in 2013. A wonderfully historic location with an enchanting cultural heritage, Slovakia is ideal for those with an appreciation of the arts. A fantastic music scene and a great taste for literature, there’s certainly lots to keep you entertained.
The truth is, if you’re looking for a vacation with a difference; one which provides a nice break from home, but could also flavour your trip with new and exciting experiences, then here’s the place to be! That’s right, not only is Slovakia relatively cheap, but it’s also full of energy. From visiting the Old Town in Bratislava, to checking out St Elizabeth’s church, you’re spoilt for choice.
France
France is such a vast and expansive destination that it’s hard not to find the holiday of your dreams here. However, if it’s a budget getaway you’re hoping for, then Loire Valley would be the perfect choice. Located in the centre of l’Hexagone, Loire Valley is not only quintessentially French (with too many vineyards to mention!) but it’s also undeniably breathtaking. Named as a World Heritage Site in 2000, the ‘Garden of France’ is, without a doubt, a fairy-tale location. What more could you ask for?
