Piata Unirii (Unirii Square), Bucharest, decorated for Christmas

Unirii Square (Piata Unirii) is more or less the center of Bucharest, capital of Romania. At this time of the year the park in the middle of this square has been prepared as an amusement park.

There are attractions for everyone, no matter the age. Kids have a couple of carousels and other fun, teenagers and young people have several places that turn you upside down.

Kids of all ages can try their luck in catching an object in a few specific games or their can spin a wheel for a prize at a couple of places.

Oh wait, there is some more. If you want to buy something – you can do that as well: from globes, light installations for Christmas trees up to gifts such as hats of Feng Shui objects – there’s plenty to choose from. And you can also eat here: from sweets like cotton sugar and “fitosenii” (small donuts with different flavours) to home made salami, cheese and sausages. You may also buy ginger bread, candies and boiled wine.

So, if in Bucharest, have fun at Unirii Square! Here are some photos by night!

Ahem, only now I realized that the monkey is really shivering, not smiling.

Maybe it’ll smile in the summer, or at least when the snow will melt πŸ˜€
