Sighisoara, Romania – a visit through photos

I’m starting today a series in which I hope I’ll be able to show you many many cities from Romania in photos (I’ve already shown you some cities from the world like that – see Pisa, and I’ll keep going). But for this I also need your help, dear readers!

Sighişoara is a city and municipality on the Târnava Mare River in Mureş County, Romania. Located in the historic region Transylvania, this city attracts many visitors also because the historical center is a part of UNESCO World Heritage (more info here). The city is the only inhabited medieval fortress (citadel) in Europe (or, at least, South-East Europe).

Every year in Sighişoara takes place a Medieval festival with different activities that remind people of that time. Also an important element for tourists from all over the world – the festival is usually in June or July, if interested you should look online for info in the year you’re planning to visit the city.

Monica Soare already presented here Sighisoara off the beaten path.

Today I manage to show you the city with photos from Maria Nistor – BIG thanks to her for these pictures. Make sure you follow Maria on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

I’m recommending her 😉

But no more talk, let’s go to the lovely photos!

Fantastic read, I just passed this onto a friend who was doing a little study on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I discovered it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
