Explore Portugal’s most popular tourist destination

My last holiday destination was Algarve. Why? I’ve heard so much about it from my friends from Lisbon. I love Portugal, its climate, people and food and Algarve is probably the best place to go when on holiday in this country.
Situated in the south of Portugal, Algarve is one of Europe’s most popular holiday destinations. It has gorgeous CLEAN beaches, clear water and is a perfect place for those who enjoy active holiday. Resorts offer a range of watersports, such as windsurfing, waterskiing or jet skiing. There are also plenty of places where you can play tennis, golf and even try horse riding or hiking!
The best time to visit the region is July and August. The temperatures are between 20ºC and 30ºC on average, which makes Algarve an ideal spot to visit both in summer and winter (it’s mild). There is a variety of places to stay in and Algarve hotels and resorts are among the best in the world.
What is Algarve famous for? Piri Piri Chicken! Right, you probably tried the sauce a thousand times at home. All Portuguese people have a bottle of Piri Piri sauce on their tables and use it to literally every meal. But trust me, it’s different when fresh and eaten in a nice restaurant with a view of the sea.
The most popular cities are Faro and Praia da Luz. But if you’re looking for vibrant, cosmopolitan nightlife go to Albufeira. The most popular party district is called “The Strip” and offers plenty of great clubs and bars, including world’s famous Pacha. It‘s a lively street and to save some money you can try bar hopping and go from one happy hour to another… Very popular practise!
Come to Algarve this summer, explore the region further; you can be sure you won’t regret it. And that Piri Piri Chicken… Yum yum!
