The Trans-Siberian railway takes you now from Moscow to Beijing and back

A great new train travel experience is launched these days – on 29th August the first train will reach Beijing as part of the The Trans-Siberian tour with the train. The Moscow – Beijing Train is a joint project between two tour operators, RZD Tour and Intourist and The Trans-Siberian has 9,300 km track.

Over 30 hours in train. Great scenery and people to meet. The new railway offers people the possibility to go in excursions in cities such as Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Ulan Bator and Erlian. This means opportunity to try local cuisine and notice also different ethnic differencies. Train travelers will also have the possibility to take a guided tour of Lake Baikal – world’s oldest (25 million-year-old pre-historic lake) and deepest freshwater lake, a lake which contains 20% of all fresh running water on the planet. After this stop, people may end their tour and take either Trans-Mongolian or Trans-Manchurian railways.

“The Moscow – Beijing train consists of 21 carriages as follows:
Compartments for 3 or 4 passengers
Sleeping cars with accommodation for 1 or 2 passengers
Luxury compartments for one or two passengers
The train also has two restaurant cars, a bar carriage, a dining car and a special carriage with shower cabins for passengers in the sleeping carriages. Passengers in the luxury carriages will be able to take a shower directly in their compartment.” (source)

Robert Reid, U.S. travel editor of Lonely Planet and a veteran Trans-Siberian traveller, quoted by CNN said that “You don’t want to think of doing the trip in anything less than 10 days and I think 14 works really well”.

“Too many people think of the journey as looking out the window the whole time,” he continued. “But you’ve got to stop at least twice. I would stop three times, even if it’s just a day stop.”

According also to Reid, trains are “basic but comfortable”. This probably means that the trip ain’t nothing like going with the Orient Express. But probably the budget is smaller too.

What do you think of this Trans-Siberian line? Will you try it?

It seems that it’s Russia’s moment, right? First the orbital hotel and space trips soon to be available and now the Trans-Siberian already launched!

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video
to make your point. You clearly know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your weblog when you could
be giving us something informative to read?
