My collection of mugs: travel souvenirs

You won’t find two identical mugs in my kitchen (except for the coffee set we have). Other than that, there are different mugs from various parts of the world! Yes, each morning I choose a mug depending on the mood I am in and on which city I miss the more. This is one of the ways in which travel is with me even when I am at home.

As any travel souvenir, they are special not only because they are from different cities, but because they have an emotional meaning (you may remember that I wrote about the fact that it is not the souvenir, it’s the emotional connection). Some of the mugs were received from friends. Others were bought by my husband in his travels (with his job), while others, of course, were bought by yours truly.

I also have to add that I had a mug from London that I loved. I still have the mug, but the writing and drawings aren’t visible anymore :(. Also, the image from a heat sensitive mug from Hamburg is no longer in perfect condition – so, as you can easily assume, using the mugs means you might destroy them, slowly (each time you use them) or faster (if one breaks.)

But enough with the words. I’m letting the pictures do the talking – I added an explanation for each mug. Which one is your favorite? Do you have mugs as travel souvenirs?

Thank you, Vanessa! I hope a new mug, from Amsterdam, will be added to my collection this week 😉

And yes, the Denver mug is indeed really funny! And it is special for me, as we don’t easily go to the US.
