It is illegal to drive a black car on Sunday

Don’t laugh. It’s true.

Apparently it is an old law that has not been changed. So, if in Denver, you should know that it is illegal to drive a black car on Sunday.

If you go in the area, don’t buy or rent a black car if you plan to drive it on Sunday 😀

Now, I don’t know if law enforcement will fine you for that, as I said it is an old law. But it is a weird law, in our days.

Unfortunately, I didn’t find any information on the origin of this law – as I am sure there must be a reason for it being a law in the first place. I don’t know if it is superstition or something historic/political. It would be nice to find out – I’ll try to do that when I get in the area.

For now, I am just mentioning this as a curiosity – but if you know the reason behind this law, please be so kind and share it here as well.

And, with this article, I’m announcing a new series here on the blog, featuring interesting laws – I’ll have posts with multiple laws, this is just a small preview 😉 – from across the globe. So… stay tuned!

As far as I found ’till now, it seems the law is up-held by the police reinforcements. I’m still in searching for the reason of this law, despite there are few chances to find out, regarding the „age” of it.

That’s an absolutely weird law. I drive a black car, so I have to buy a new one or rent another so I can use it on Sunday? Whoa. Thanks for sharing, this is interesting!!

That law is a little absurd, lol. If you do find out why it was passed and implemented, please do share with us.

Wow, that’s so interesting! Then I guess most people have other coloured cars so they get to drive it everyday?

Strange law. And I think it is stranger still that nobody repeals the law. The safest way is to not buy a black car of you live in Denver. Must be a colorful road they got there.

That’s quite an unusual law. Now you have me curious as well. I wonder how that law came to be and what happens when you don’t have any other car other than a black one? Lol. I have so many questions too!

May i know where is this law from or which country that actually enforces it? Don’t think that’s ever a problem in my country.

That’s a pretty funny law and I hope they do update that law. I guess since legislation take so much time, some laws become outdated.

I had read about all these weird little laws in different places, like this one. You may only throw a frisbee at the beach in Los Angeles County, CA with the lifeguard’s permission. Women may not drive in a house coat. Haha!
