The Grand Canyon in Winter

One of the iconic travel destinations in USA is definitely the Grand Canyon. Travellers and visitors take as many pictures as they can and enjoy a lovely experience admiring the incredible scenery and the animals in the area.

You see it in the movies, you hear of it in school and you see many photos from the canyon online. It is only natural to want to admire the landscapes yourself, to see if those powerful colours from the photos are indeed real, to simply contemplate nature. Our friend Dan Mitea was able to visit the Grand Canyon this Christmas and sent us some photos of this world wonder in winter.

“The canyon is a staggering 277 miles long. At its deepest, it is about a mile from the rim to the Colorado River far below and it is as much as 18 miles wide in some spots. The park encompasses 1,904 square miles and visibility on a good day can reach up to 100 miles.” (source)

It is an incredible feeling to be there, regardless of the time of the year. The only caution is that during winter there are times when there are weather alerts and the winter driving conditions might restrict your tour. For more information on The Grand Canyon you can access this link, or this one. But enough talk, let’s see the amazing views of the Grand Canyon.
