Cozia Monastery, Romania

Located on the right bank of the Olt River, the Cozia Monastery was erected by Mircea cel Bătrân in 1388. The monument houses the ruler’s tomb and is considered the oldest and most complex historical and art monument from Romania.

I will tell you more about it – and show you photos from the interior of this monastery – in a later post here on the blog. Until then, here is a photo with the monastery as seen from the access road.
