Bucharest in pictures as seen from the 19th floor

I recently had the opportunity to enter the presidential apartment of InterContinental Hotel in Bucharest (part of a Romanian campaign aiming to promote unknown places in the city.) This hotel has a long history – it existed during the communism period and beyond – and in the presidential apartment – a 250 square metres apartment with a living room, a kitchen, two bedrooms! – were filmed the interior scenes in a very famous Romanian comedy.

The apartment is special as it allows its guests to have access to three terraces, thus offering a splendid panorama of the city. Note that in this apartment there is a Stenway and Sons piano, and, along the years, many starts chose it: Luciano Pavarotti was the first after the 1989 Revolution in Romania.

The InterContinental Hotel is located in the Piata Universitatii, next to the National Theatre “Ion Luca Caragiale”. It is easily accessible and you can go anywhere in the city from here.

As it is located in the centre of the city, and due to its architecture, from the hotel you can see the University Building, the Coltea Hospital and church, University Square, a view toward Magheru Boulvard and you can see the Parliament House (People’s House, the seond biggest building in the world after the Pentagon, yes, the one built in Ceausescu’s time) and more.
I hope you’ll like the photos included below.
