Palm Sunday in Bucharest

by Lori

Palm Sunday is a Christian moveable feast – always the Sunday before Easter. It has important meanings – if you want to find out more I recommend this article on Wikipedia.

In Romania is a feast and also a “name day” celebration for all those having a first name consisting in a flower name or Florin, Floriana, Flori etc. (from the Romanian word for Palm Sunday – “Florii”).

There are always several fairs organized with this occasion. Valentina Roman visited the one at the National Peasant Museum (Muzeul Taranului Roman) and took some great photos. Here’s how this fair was like.
