Mountain – fossilized snails

In this year’s vacation we went in the Apuseni mountains. One day we went visiting the memorial house of Avram Iancu, an important leader in Romania’s history. We will soon present this memorial house here.

On the road to this museum we passed by – and we stopped to see – a nature curiosity: an entire mountain wall full of fossilized snails. It is locally known as the Snails Hill (by the people in that area). And since an image is worth a thousand words, here are some photos of this interesting formation. Enjoy!
